Horn not working. Basically the horn wasn't working. 1st thing, and probably quite an important one, there was no horn!!! Luckily had a spare in the shed, so hooked that up, still nothing when pressing the button. Followed the wires, checked continuity etc. checked the fuse, everything was fine. Until I came to removing the steering wheel. this assumes the column is telescopic in the mk1, i woudl assume it is. when its off just tug the column to re-extend. you'll then remove the spring and washers etc, and you'll need the plastic spacer as fitted to the tintops else the wheel can go on too far and short out on the stalk screws. 3834 USD.
